Popular Nigerian cryptocurrency entrepreneur, Linus Williams Ifejirika, widely known as Blord, has been released from the Kuje Correctional Facility after spending 20 days in custody.
His release followed the fulfillment of bail conditions on Monday evening. Blord had earlier been granted bail on Friday in connection with allegations of impersonating Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan.
As part of the bail requirements, the court ordered the submission of his international passport. However, a delay in transporting the document from Anambra State to Abuja led to his temporary return to custody.
Confirming his release, human rights activist and politician Omoyele Sowore expressed appreciation to members of the public for their support. In a post shared on his Instagram page, Sowore described the development as evidence of the impact of collective action.
“Linus Williams, also known as @mrblordofficial, is finally out of Kuje Prison, and that outcome is a reminder that collective action can yield results. No one should be abandoned to unjust detention. No one shall be left behind,” he wrote.
