More than 100 suspected “imported” voters have reportedly been arrested in Osun State while allegedly preparing to vote in the ongoing governorship election.

The voters, who were reportedly in possession of newly issued Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), were said to have been camped at the residence of Hon. Abiola Ibrahim, a member of the Osun State House of Assembly representing Irewole-Isokan Constituency.

A video circulating on social media showed the alleged voters being interrogated by security operatives.

In the footage, Ibrahim reportedly told the operatives that the group had been accommodated at his residence to vote for the Accord Party in the election.

The development comes amid heightened scrutiny of alleged attempts to influence the outcome of the Osun governorship election through the mobilisation of voters.

Efforts to obtain an immediate reaction from the Osun State Police Command were unsuccessful at press time.
