Chelsea have confirmed the temporary departure of two of their players, Reggie Walsh and Katie Cox, ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The club announced the moves in separate statements on its official website on Wednesday.
Walsh, a midfielder, will spend the 2026/27 campaign on loan at League One outfit Wigan Athletic as he continues his development with regular first-team football.
The 16-year-old joined Chelsea’s academy at under-eight level and progressed through the ranks before making his senior debut for the Blues at 16 years and 193 days.
Cox, meanwhile, will join Nottingham Forest on loan for the new season.
The goalkeeper has been with Chelsea since the age of eight and has impressed throughout her progression through the club’s academy system.
Despite her temporary move away from Stamford Bridge, Cox has extended her commitment to Chelsea.
“I’m delighted to be able to continue my future at Chelsea and be offered another contract at my childhood club,” she said, according to the club’s website.
The loan spells are expected to give both youngsters valuable first-team experience as they continue their development.
