Israel DMW, logistics manager to Afrobeats singer Davido, has reacted angrily to the reported ban on the singer by the Edo State Government.
Israel made his position known while reacting to a directive reportedly issued by Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo through his Senior Special Assistant on Digital Media, Apostle Kassy Chukwu.
In a video shared on Friday, Chukwu announced that Davido had been banned from performing in Edo State following the singer’s recent online altercation with Governor Okpebholo during the Osun State governorship election.
Reacting to the announcement, Israel, who hails from Edo State, insisted that nobody could prevent Davido from visiting or performing in the state.
He noted that Davido’s mother is from Edo State, describing the state as the singer’s maternal home.
Sharing a photograph of Chukwu on Instagram, Israel accused the governor’s aide of being an outsider and said he was not speaking on behalf of the people of Edo.
He wrote: “He’s from Ebonyi State, and not from Edo. 100% a real settler, who has become a complete nuisance in Benin City. An APC fake pastor, a cum pastor. A beer parlour pastor.
“Kindly disregard what he’s saying. He’s not speaking for we Edolites. No man on this planet Earth can ban Oga from Edo, his maternal home. Idiot of a pastor.”
The latest development adds to the ongoing war of words between Davido and Governor Okpebholo following their clash on social media over the Osun State governorship election.
